Just looked at the latest cost of living data and it's wild how concentrated the most expensive place to live in the world really is. Six of the top cities are all in Switzerland - Zurich leading at 112.5, then Geneva at 111.4, Basel at 110.7. Like, Switzerland just dominates this ranking completely.

What caught my attention is how the index works. They use NYC as the baseline at 100 points. So Zurich being 112.5 means it's roughly 12.5% more expensive than New York. And honestly, most expensive place to live comparisons usually put these Swiss cities way ahead of everywhere else.

The US has a bunch of expensive cities too - New York obviously at 100, then Honolulu (94.4), San Francisco (90.7), and Seattle (86). California's real estate is insane. But even these don't touch the Swiss cities.

What's interesting is that outside Switzerland, you've got Norway with multiple entries (Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger), and then Singapore, Tel Aviv, and Hong Kong representing Asia. But yeah, if you're looking at the most expensive place to live in the world right now, Switzerland's got like five spots in the top six. The wealth concentration there is just different.
