Techub News reports that, according to Channel NewsAsia, Polish lawmakers passed a cryptocurrency regulation bill on Friday to implement the EU MiCA regulations. At the same time, Polish prosecutors are investigating the exchange Zondacrypto for fraud, finding that user losses exceed 350 million zloty (about $95.93 million). The exchange’s founder went missing in 2022, and its successor is currently in Israel, where extradition is proving difficult. Zondacrypto was once Poland’s largest exchange, and thousands of users are unable to withdraw funds. Polish Prime Minister Tusk has accused it of being involved with funds linked to the Russian mafia. It is reported that the bill was vetoed twice earlier by the president, and if it is not officially implemented before July, Polish entities will lose their qualification to provide cryptocurrency asset services.
