The Web3 gaming ecosystem has developed quite impressively over the past few years. I’ve been following this industry for a while and am surprised by how many innovative projects are now on the market.

Decentraland remains one of the flagship projects. The 2.0 version, which went into beta about a year and a half ago, was a big step forward. With the desktop app option, the platform has become much more accessible, while performance has been maintained. What impresses me is the reward system — players can complete daily tasks, earn MANA tokens, and collect badges. This really creates incentives to come back regularly. Customizable wearables and emotes are central to this economic growth.

Axie Infinity is, of course, the classic that changed everything. The Ronin network enables low transaction costs, which is especially relevant in regions where players rely on play-to-earn. AXS and SLP have real value, and scalability has greatly helped this Web3 gaming title.

But there are also many exciting new titles. My Neighbor Alice combines Web3 with relaxed farming gameplay — earning ALICE tokens through in-game activities. The collaboration with Elle Magazine brings additional physical rewards, which is quite creative. The second beta phase has introduced more crafting features.

Off the Grid by Gunzilla Games is an interesting battle royale with AAA quality. The Avalanche network drives the blockchain component. Shrapnel uses Unreal Engine 5 and offers an extraction-shooter experience — NFT weapons, wearables, all on Avalanche. That’s Web3 gaming on a different level in terms of production value.

There are also more ambitious concepts like Domi Online — an MMO with an infinite level system and Web3 features such as tokenization and decentralized governance. This appeals to classic MMO fans longing for experiences similar to World of Warcraft.

InfiniGods has tried to build an entire ecosystem with King of Destiny and Immortal Siege. NFT owners receive shares when the GOD token launches. The idea of directly linking player participation with financial gains isn’t new, but the implementation is interesting.

Pixels is a multiplayer game with pixel art aesthetics that focuses on community and missions. Players can win virtual land plots. A major crypto exchange supported the game, helping increase its visibility.

OneFootball partnered with Animoca Brands in the Web3 gaming space and launched Football ID — a decentralized identifier for sports fans to participate in GameFi events and gain special access rights.

What fascinates me about this development: Web3 gaming is becoming more professional. AAA studios like Gunzilla are now investing, not just small indie teams. The technology is becoming more stable. And the games are actually playable — not just money machines.

Of course, there are many challenges still. But those who watch the industry see clear progress. The next few years will be decisive in whether Web3 gaming truly becomes mainstream or remains niche.
