I thought these free cryptocurrency mining options I found around were pretty cool. You know that PC that stays idle? You can use it to mine BTC, ETH, and other coins without spending anything.
There are several that work well. Awesome Miner is one of the oldest, since 2014, runs on Windows and Linux. Then there's BetterHash, which automatically chooses the most profitable coin at the moment, very convenient indeed. StormGain is famous for mining Bitcoin with less energy consumption, and it even works on your phone.
Other worth mentioning: CryptoTab (a browser that mines while you browse), Kryptex (Windows, claims up to R$520 per month), MinerGate (works on multiple systems), and PEGAPool (only needs a smartphone to mine ETH).
There's also ECOS, which offers cloud mining, but that's not completely free anymore. And there's EarnCrypto, which is more for earning satoshis by doing simple tasks like taking surveys.
The truth is, free cryptocurrency mining does exist, but you need to be careful with scams. Always check the platform's reputation, if it has a history, and what security measures they use. Many people want to steal data with these free offers. But if you choose carefully, you can earn something while your PC is on.
