May 14 SEC disclosure: Dartmouth’s $9 billion endowment fund held a total of $14.5 million in crypto ETFs in Q1 2026—IBIT $7.7 million / Grayscale ETH $3.5 million / Bitwise SOL $3.3 million, accounting for 0.16% of the total endowment size.

Meanwhile, Harvard’s $56.9 billion endowment fund in Q4 2025: held IBIT of over $265 million, but net reduced its holdings by 21% during the quarter (in two consecutive quarters; it was nearly halved in Q3). In the same period, it initiated an ETH ETF position of about $86.82 million for the first time.
Full picture of the food chain:
— Harvard: built positions at low prices in 2024, continued distributing near ATH in 2025; Q4 closing BTC $88,429
— Dartmouth: only followed in Q1; its IBIT holdings’ value fell from $10 million to $7.7 million in the quarter, a 23% contraction
BTC current price $82K, ATH $126K, down 35% from the peak.
Endorsements from elite universities are part of the food chain, not an entry signal—the 21% reduction by Harvard is exactly when you see the headline about “Ivy League increasing crypto-asset holdings.” #Gate广场五月交易分享 $BTC $ETH $SOL
