Elon Musk Attends Xi-Biden Summit with Son X Æ A-Xii

According to The Sun, Musk brought his 6-year-old son X Æ A-Xii to the summit.

From the released footage, X Æ A-Xii is seen wearing dark trousers, a white shirt, and a light blue traditional silk vest with green embroidery, holding a brown dragon-shaped crossbody bag. He followed his father into the conference room filled with suits, holding his father’s hand as they entered.

After the related video was shared by the Chinese Twitter account “Teacher Li is not Your Teacher,” Musk responded in simplified Chinese: “My son is learning Mandarin.” This gesture drew significant attention, and “Musk posts in Chinese” trended on Weibo’s hot search list.

However, X Æ A-Xii’s mother, Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes, does not like her young son attending large public events.

Last year, Musk took X Æ A-Xii to the White House to witness Trump signing an executive order. Grimes revealed she was unaware of this and believed her son should not appear in the public eye in such a manner.

Xiaomi’s Lei Jun Takes Selfie with Musk

Another social media topic was Xiaomi’s Lei Jun taking a selfie with Musk. According to Forbes, the footage shows Musk making a funny face when Lei Jun asked to take a photo, then sighing afterward and lowering his head to scroll on his phone.

This amusing scene, which seemed like “Musk’s social energy was exhausted,” quickly spread across Chinese social media. The “Lei Jun and Musk photo” also ranked among the top three trending topics on Weibo, with some netizens joking that Lei Jun was lowering his stance in front of an idol.

Lei Jun has expressed admiration for Musk and was among the first Chinese owners of a Tesla Model S. Since leading Xiaomi’s investment in the electric vehicle market in 2021, the brand has become one of the top competitors in China alongside Tesla’s Model Y.

Musk and Tech Giants, Politicians at the Same Table

At this summit, Musk sat at the conference table alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook (who is soon to step down), U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Trump and Xi Jinping held a two-hour meeting discussing current tariffs and Taiwan sovereignty issues.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson revealed that Xi Jinping emphasized to Trump that Taiwan is the most important issue in China-U.S. relations. “If handled properly, bilateral relations can remain stable overall; otherwise, conflicts could arise, plunging China-U.S. relations into a highly dangerous situation. Xi also stated that both countries must become partners and avoid becoming rivals.”

Chinese state media Xinhua also reported that Xi Jinping said during the meeting that China’s door will open even wider, welcoming the U.S. to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and expressed confidence that American companies will enjoy broader prospects in China.
