Starting from May 16, the fuel surcharge for mainland China routes will be increased.

Reporters learned on May 14th from Air China, China Southern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and other airlines that starting from 0:00 on May 16th, the fuel surcharge for tickets sold on domestic routes in China will be increased.

The specific standards are: 90 yuan per segment for routes of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less, and 170 yuan per segment for routes over 800 kilometers. Infants are exempt from the fuel surcharge, and children, military personnel with revolutionary disabilities, and police officers disabled in the line of duty will pay half of the fuel surcharge.

For tickets sold for domestic routes in China before and including May 15th, if they are changed after May 16th (inclusive), the new standard will not be applied, and the difference will not be charged. (Reporter Wang Yuhao)
