The main station reporter learned on May 8th local time that, according to Pakistani sources, Iran is reviewing the U.S. response to the 14-point proposal. The 14-point proposal aims to formally end hostilities and open a 30-day negotiation window for detailed discussions on Iran’s nuclear program, lifting sanctions, and the security passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Pakistani diplomatic sources said that Iranian officials are expected to make an official response on May 8th, while the U.S. is waiting for Iran’s stance on key issues.

Recently, Iran, through mediation by Pakistan, submitted a new plan containing the 14-point proposal to the U.S., mainly including ensuring no further military aggression, U.S. military compensation payments, and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. On May 2nd, Trump stated that he would soon evaluate Iran’s new plan but “cannot imagine” that the plan is “acceptable.” (Main station reporter Cui Ru)
