Data centers are not the end point; the next explosive growth is in robotics and edge AI.
NVIDIA's stock price has risen from $100 to $227, and the main reason is only one: exponential growth in AI computing power demand. By May 2026, this story is not only not over but accelerating.
Let's look at the capital expenditures of several tech giants. Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon, and Tesla disclosed a combined AI-related capital expenditure increase of 42% year-over-year in their Q1 2026 financial reports, reaching $68 billion, with about 60% used to purchase NVIDIA's GPUs and DGX systems. More importantly, these companies have all raised their full-year guidance, expecting procurement efforts in Q2 and Q3 to only increase. Since shipping began on the Blackwell Ultra platform in March 2026, order schedules have already extended into Q1 2027.
Besides data centers, two new engines are igniting. The first is industrial robots. NVIDIA's Isaac robot platform and Jetson Thor edge computing modules are being widely adopted by Toyota, Siemens, and Amazon warehouses. It is expected that robot business revenue will surpass $12 billion in 2026, a 170% year-over-year increase. The second is autonomous driving. Although slower than expected, BYD, Xiaopeng, and Mercedes-Benz's new models are all equipped with Thor chips, with compliance and safety certifications basically completed.
Regarding performance expectations, Wall Street consensus forecasts Q2 2026 (May quarterly report, usually released in August) revenue at $42 billion, with EPS of $1.85. But historically, NVIDIA has exceeded expectations for seven consecutive quarters, with an average "beat" margin of 12%. If Q2 again exceeds expectations by 10%, there is every reason for the stock price to break through $250 within May.
However, in the short term (the remaining two weeks of May), there are no quarterly reports or GTC conferences, so the May rally is more about sentiment and momentum continuation rather than direct performance realization. I predict that by the end of May, NVIDIA's stock price will be between $230 and $245, as the market awaits the next major catalyst.
