The neural network helped bypass macOS security – WSJ

Researchers from Calif using the AI model Anthropic Mythos found a way to bypass Apple’s security.

The model linked two bugs, and experts have already assembled a working exploit from them: memory corruption in Mac → privilege escalation → access to closed parts of macOS.

The attack targeted Memory Integrity Enforcement – a security mechanism that Apple has been developing for about 5 years. The researchers prepared a 55-page report and personally went to Apple’s office to demonstrate the security flaw.

Apple is already investigating the issue. There is no patch yet, so the details of the exploit are not disclosed.
