Additionally, this year’s Golden Melody Awards explicitly ban fully AI-generated music from competing.

Golden Melody Awards Nomination Announced, Our Shame First Nominated

The 37th Golden Melody Awards for 2026 announced the nominations yesterday (5/13). The duo Our Shame, who released the tribute single “Miffy” for the late blockchain investigator Chen Mei-hui last year, is nominated this year for Best Vocal Group and Best Album Design.

Our Shame released their debut album “Modern Problem” in 2022, which features the song “Richard,” depicting 29-year-old airport worker Richard Russell stealing a plane and crashing it, garnering millions of plays. “Hidden Album,” released in 2025, is their second album.

Regarding their nomination, Our Shame said this is their first time being nominated, and they feel quite shocked and joyful. They are still digesting this good news and thank the public for their blessings and the judges’ support:

“‘Hidden Album’ is an album dedicated to all the unspeakable things in life. It pays tribute to the unspoken chapters of life and also commemorates those memories kept private but active deep in the subconscious.”

Our Shame Single Pays Tribute to Chen Mei-hui: Selfless Blockchain Investigator

In “Hidden Album,” Our Shame includes the single “Miffy.” This song is a tribute to Chen Mei-hui, who tragically passed away in a car accident in December 2024, and Miffy is her English name.

Chen Mei-hui passed away in December 2024 after a car accident on the highway. During her lifetime, she was involved in cases such as the sensational “88 Club Money Laundering Case,” the investigation of illegal fund flows in “Creative Private,” and the money laundering methods of “Godfather of Money Laundering” Tu Cheng-wen. A cryptocurrency flow analysis report she left behind became a key piece of evidence that helped Taiwanese police crack a major international scam.

The prosecution later explained that Chen Mei-hui’s report assisted the police in tracing the source and tracking the money flow, ultimately leading to the arrest of the group’s top executives and the seizure of over one million Tether tokens and other illegal assets.

The Civil Justice Reform Foundation also revealed that Chen Mei-hui had dedicated herself to rescuing wrongful convictions of Xu Ziqiang and Chen Jing-kai since 2013 during her 10 years working at the organization, and helped establish a digital justice reform database. She later became the chairperson of Taiwan’s chapter of the Global Anti-Scam Organization (GASO).

When “Miffy” was released, Our Shame’s lead singer Xiao Ou told the media outlet “Blow Music” that although he had never met Chen Mei-hui, her spirit deeply moved him. The lyrics also convey that even though changing the world is very difficult, seeing a glimmer of light now and then is what sustains him.

Golden Melody Awards Ban AI-Generated Content, Ceremony on 6/27

The 2026 Golden Melody Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m. This year, there is a special regulation in response to technological advances: fully AI-generated content is prohibited from participating in awards, and generative AI software can only be used as an auxiliary tool in music creation and production processes.

The Ministry of Culture previously issued guidelines for the application of generative AI in arts and culture, stating that results solely generated by AI cannot enjoy copyright protection. It also recommends that creators retain prompts and intermediate files to prove human creative input and editing arrangements.
