A few days ago, a rather provocative post appeared on X from Kimball Musk, the brother of the famous Elon. Kimball criticized Trump's policies, accusing him of implementing the highest taxes in generations through tariff strategies. Interestingly, Elon and his brother Kimball have very different views on many issues, despite their strong family ties.
Kimball Musk, a 52-year-old entrepreneur, owns a fortune of about 700 million dollars, mainly thanks to his stake in Tesla (0.04% of shares). But who is this mysterious brother of Elon? Kimball Musk is known not only for his criticism of political decisions but also for his concern for the environment and society. He is easily recognizable by his signature cowboy hat, which he wears constantly.
When looking at the two brothers side by side, obvious similarities are visible: both were born in Pretoria, have the same square jaw, straight nose, and green eyes. Both hold South African, Canadian, and American citizenship. However, Kimball is distinguished by his unique style and a different approach to life from Elon.
The Musk family history is quite dramatic. Kimball, his sister Tosca (50 years old), and Elon experienced violence from their father during childhood. This led to their mother Maya (76 years old) divorcing in 1979. After that, the family emigrated to Canada, and then to the United States. Together, the brothers founded the startup Zip2, which provided business software for the internet. In 1999, they sold it to Compaq for an impressive 307 million dollars. This was Musk's first serious success, demonstrating the potential of both brothers in entrepreneurship.
