I just saw a rather alarming case of a whale losing 55 million DAI in a phishing attack. The crazy part is that everything happened in just a few minutes: they signed a transaction that looked harmless, but in reality, it gave full access to their funds to a malicious address. When they tried to withdraw the DAI, the transaction failed because they were no longer the owner.

The attacker didn't waste any time. They immediately moved the 55 million DAI to a new address, then started converting everything into ETH. In a short period, they had already exchanged 27.5 million DAI for about 10,625 ETH, liquidating the stolen funds very quickly. Practically a surgical operation.

This is a harsh reminder for anyone operating in crypto: phishing remains one of the most dangerous threats. No matter how sophisticated your setup is, if you sign an unknown transaction, you are vulnerable. Always double-check before confirming anything, especially when it involves wallets with large amounts of DAI or other assets. Whales are not immune, and this case clearly proves it.
