The New York Times reports that the Israeli military committed sexual violence against Palestinians; Netanyahu will file a defamation lawsuit
The New York Times has a column claiming that Israeli authorities systematically abuse and rape Palestinian prisoners.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Saar (Gideon Saar) stated they will file defamation lawsuits against The New York Times.
Senior journalist Nicholas Kristof previously published an article in The New York Times, alleging that Israeli soldiers and prison guards commit systematic sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners.
Israel denied the reports, with the Prime Minister’s Office issuing a statement on Thursday describing the article as a lie.
Netanyahu posted on social media that he has instructed legal advisors to file lawsuits against The New York Times and Nicholas Kristof, claiming the article defamed Israeli soldiers.
