I noticed an interesting trend at the beginning of this year. The list of the richest person in the world and their circle has radically changed — they are no longer just financial magnates, but technological innovators. Elon Musk has surged ahead with a net worth of about $726 billion, which is a historic record for an individual. Nothing like this has ever happened before.

Interestingly, his wealth growth is fueled not only by Tesla. SpaceX has received a valuation simply off the charts, Starlink is expanding worldwide, plus all this AI hype around neurotechnology. It turns out that the richest person in the world now is not just a businessman, but someone betting on future technologies.

Following him are Larry Page with $270 billion and Jeff Bezos with $255 billion. Both benefit from dominance in AI and cloud computing. Sergey Brin, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg — all are in the top 10, and all are connected to technology in one way or another.

What’s surprising is the scale. The combined wealth of the top 10 has increased by hundreds of billions due to the revaluation of tech companies. Artificial intelligence, space technologies, semiconductors — these are what are driving the market right now. American tech companies are absolutely dominating. Those who have held shares in their companies for a long time are experiencing exponential growth.

Overall, it’s interesting to see how the world’s richest person changes depending on which technologies are trending. Previously, it was financiers, then internet magnates, and now it’s people investing in the future. It seems this trend will continue for a long time.
