Recently, I came across a bunch of PFPs talking about "membership benefits" and "brand storytelling." My first reaction was: is this really long-term value or just short-term attention turnover... In plain words, can it withstand the bear market and still be around? Airdrop season makes everyone act like they're clocking in at work, and the more strict the anti-witch platform tasks become, the more the points system intensifies, which actually makes it more like a "temporary worker contract" — once the hype passes, it disperses.

Now I look at PFPs as a backup idea: the main account is for stablecoin flows and L2 data, PFPs are mostly a remote backup, occasionally useful, but I would never put all my identity and expectations into them. People who have been burned by this tend to have this problem: they'd rather have fewer stories and more room to retreat.
