Coins with the lowest maximum supply in the crypto market actually form a very interesting category. Recently, I have been examining such projects and want to share some findings.
First of all, Yearn Finance (YFI) caught my attention. With 36,666 YFI, the maximum supply is completely fixed. This highly limited supply structure explains why the price has remained at such high levels. This protocol, which works on yield aggregation in the DeFi world, naturally holds value due to supply scarcity.
Maker (MKR) is in a similar situation. Approximately 91,389 tokens are in circulation, and the maximum supply is set at 1,005,577. MKR, serving as the governance token of MakerDAO, holds an important place among coins with the lowest maximum supply in the DeFi sector. Holding these tokens is necessary to have a say in the protocol's management.
Looking at Balancer (BAL), there are 72,254,074 tokens available, and the maximum supply is limited to 96,150,704. This platform, which functions as an automated market maker, uses the BAL token for community governance. The supply cap is an important mechanism for long-term value appreciation.
BarnBridge (BOND) has its maximum supply fixed at exactly 10 million tokens, and this will not change. Focused on reducing crypto asset risks, this protocol uses BOND for governance. The fixed supply structure is part of the project's long-term strategy.
The UMA platform is also an interesting example. With 128,305,455 tokens in circulation and the maximum supply at the same level, UMA provides infrastructure for creating decentralized finance contracts. It offers an ecosystem where token holders play a critical role in protocol governance.
Projects like Ren and SushiSwap should also be considered. Ren has a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, enabling cross-chain transfers. SushiSwap, with an issuance of 291,514,754 tokens, functions as a decentralized exchange. Both are in the category of coins with the lowest maximum supply.
Overall, a limited supply structure increases the value of these projects in the market. When demand is high, supply scarcity naturally triggers price increases. Tracking such tokens can be very beneficial for long-term investment strategies. Viewing the latest data on these projects on platforms like Gate.io helps understand market dynamics.
