Just noticed the altcoin market is showing some real momentum today. XRP, DOGE, and ADA are all climbing, with PEPE jumping even harder. The total altcoin market cap hit $1.01 trillion after weeks of just moving sideways, which is actually a pretty solid sign.

Looking at the current moves, XRP is up 3.73%, DOGE up 3.17%, ADA up 2.89%, and DOT up 3.39%. Even PEPE is still up 2.25% after its earlier surge. Meanwhile, ETH is outpacing BTC at 2.17% vs 2.82%, and the memecoins like BONK and PENGU are pushing 3.68% and 3.43% respectively. This kind of rotation into alts usually signals something bigger might be brewing.

The Altcoin Season Index hit 49, the highest since January, which means more of the top 100 coins are beating Bitcoin. But here's the thing most traders are watching - Bitcoin dominance is still holding around 57.39%. Some analysts think a real altcoin season doesn't kick off until that drops below 55%, giving smaller tokens more breathing room.

If you follow the cycle, altcoin season typically picks up once Bitcoin stabilizes. A few analysts are suggesting we could see 20-40% upside in the total altcoin market cap before hitting major resistance. Whether this is the start of a full altcoin season or just a bounce, the setup is definitely worth monitoring. The retail interest in these moves is pretty strong right now.
