I just realized that NFT gaming is becoming something truly exciting, not just a temporary trend but a major shift in how we play games and make money. Instead of just playing for fun, now you can truly own digital assets and convert them into real value.

You might have heard of Axie Infinity. It is a monster battling game where you can earn money by playing — AXS is currently at $1.28, but it has experienced significant volatility. The game was developed by a Vietnamese team and has really changed the entire market. The great thing is that now it has a mobile version for both Android and iOS, making it much more accessible.

But NFT gaming isn’t just about Axie. Pixels is a pixel art farming game on the Ronin blockchain that has attracted over 900,000 players. The cool part is you can rent out your NFTs to others to play and earn passive income. It’s like owning an income-generating asset.

I also follow Illuvium (ILV currently at $5.07) — this is a truly AAA-quality open-world RPG game. It’s built on Immutable X, so gas fees are extremely low. The game is inspired by Pokémon but features creatures called Illuvials. You need capital to buy NFT Land and Illuvials, but the gameplay experience is really worth it.

What I love most about NFT gaming is transparency. Each NFT has a transaction history recorded on the blockchain, so you know exactly what you own. No two NFTs are the same — each has unique traits, creating scarcity and value.

However, I must also say that this isn’t a shortcut to making money. NFT games are still developing, and there are risks. If a game stops being active, your NFTs could become worthless. Additionally, the value of NFTs depends on many factors — rarity, the popularity of the game, community interest. The currency market also has a big impact, making investments riskier.

There are some other notable games as well. Big Time is a free multiplayer action RPG with a $21 million investment. Shrapnel is a sci-fi shooter where you truly own in-game assets. Heroes of Mavia is a mobile tower defense game that has surpassed 1 million downloads.

What makes NFT gaming different from traditional games is the interaction. NFTs from one game can be used in other games, increasing their flexibility and value. It’s a real ecosystem, not just isolated games.

The Beacon is a great example of a modern approach. It’s developed by Treasure DAO on Arbitrum (ARB at $0.13) and features high-quality pixel graphics. You need an NFT character to start, but the game is really engaging with regular tournament events.

I believe NFT gaming will continue to grow. Although there are many challenges, the potential is enormous. With blockchain technology maturing and top game developers entering the space, I think we’ll see truly amazing games in the future. The key is to invest responsibly and understand the risks before getting started.
