I just reviewed something that many people don't fully understand: Elon Musk's crypto wallet and why it remains so relevant in this space. The guy is the richest man on the planet, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and his moves in crypto have moved markets more times than we can count. So let's see what he actually owns.
Let's start with the obvious: Bitcoin. In 2021, when Tesla announced that massive $1.5 billion investment, Musk put BTC on the map in a serious way. Although Tesla later sold most of its holdings, Musk personally remains a Bitcoin hodler. To him, it's digital gold, a store of value with unmatched market dominance. With Bitcoin trading around $81K currently, the position remains significant.
Next is Ethereum, the second-largest crypto by market cap. He revealed it at the 2021 The ₿ Word conference. ETH seems important to him because he sees its potential beyond price: smart contracts, DeFi, NFTs, all the innovation in blockchain. With ETH at $2.29K, it’s clearly still on his radar.
But here’s where it gets interesting: Dogecoin is his favorite and he’s never hidden it. Not only does he call it "the people's cryptocurrency," but he has promoted its use at Tesla and SpaceX. DOGE is at $0.11 and has risen 2.94% in the last 24 hours. Musk appreciates that it has meme origins but also recognizes its real potential as a medium of exchange: low fees and an active community.
Now, there’s a lot of speculation about other coins. Shiba Inu is interesting: Musk denies owning it, but his tweets about "Floki" and other dog-themed coins generate significant market movement. SHIB is at $0.00 with +0.80% in 24h. And Floki Inu, named after Musk’s Shiba dog, has gained attention although there’s no clear evidence he owns it. FLOKI is at $0.00 with +2.11%.
What’s clear is that Elon Musk’s relationship with crypto remains one of the most influential in the market. His decisions on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and especially his support for Dogecoin have redefined how we see these coins. If you follow the space, he’s definitely someone whose positions are worth monitoring.
