Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 14 — The review of the “Cryptocurrency Market Structure Act” (also known as the CLARITY Act) has begun in the U.S. Senate Banking Committee. Senator Elizabeth Warren stated that the bill “is just not ready,” criticizing in her opening remarks that the American public is currently facing rising costs for food, utilities, and healthcare. Congress should prioritize issues like reducing living costs and limiting credit card interest rates, rather than “spending time on a bill written by the crypto industry for its own benefit.” She also cited a poll indicating that only 1% of 1,000 registered American voters consider cryptocurrency the most important issue before the 2026 election, suggesting that crypto regulation is not a current voter concern. Additionally, Warren called for a more comprehensive debate and revision of the CLARITY Act, stating that the bill still has many unresolved issues related to law enforcement, anti-money laundering, and other regulatory concerns.
