UK AI chip company Fractile completes $220 million Series B funding round

Mars Finance News, according to The Wall Street Journal, UK AI chip startup Fractile announced the completion of a $220 million Series B funding round, led by Factorial Funds, Accel, and Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. The company was founded in 2022 and focuses on AI inference chip development to improve the response speed of large models to user queries. Fractile was founded by engineer Walter Goodwin with an Oxford University background. The company states that its chip and memory architecture can reduce latency while increasing bandwidth efficiency, aiming to achieve “faster, cheaper” computing power in AI inference scenarios. It is rumored that Anthropic has initiated preliminary contact with Fractile regarding the procurement of its AI inference chips.
