Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 14th, according to Decrypt, the leader of the UK Reform UK party, Nigel Farage, is facing an official investigation by the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for failing to report a personal gift of 5 million pounds (approximately 6.7 million USD) from Tether investor Christopher Harborne.

Harborne holds a 12% stake in the stablecoin giant Tether and is the Reform UK party’s largest financial supporter, with a single donation of 9 million pounds last year setting the record for the highest personal political donation in the UK’s history. Farage stated that the gift was used to ensure personal security and insisted that the donation occurred before he announced his candidacy, thus he was not obligated to report it. If found to have violated parliamentary conduct rules, Farage could face a written apology and even sanctions such as suspension or expulsion from Parliament.
