Just checked the liquidation data from the past day and it's pretty wild. Total crypto liquidations hit $124 million across the market, with shorts getting absolutely wrecked way harder than longs. We're talking $74.32 million in short liquidations versus $49.86 million in longs. Bitcoin saw $25.03 million in short liquidations and $9.86 million in long liquidations, while Ethereum had even bigger numbers at $28.84 million and $13.01 million respectively. What caught my eye though was that over 62,000 traders got liquidated globally in this period. The biggest single hit happened on some ETH derivatives contract on a major exchange—someone took a $2.43 million loss in one go. These kinds of crypto liquidations happen pretty regularly when volatility spikes, but the scale today definitely shows people were over-leveraged. Makes you think twice before going all-in with 10x or 20x leverage, honestly.
