I receive many questions from newcomers to the cryptocurrency market: "How much money do I need to start with Bitcoin?", "Do I need a large capital?". Most people think that only the wealthy can participate, but the reality is completely different.
I started my journey in 2016 with only 10 million VND. After 5 years of trading, my assets have grown to 21 billion VND. Not because I had a large capital from the beginning, but because I understood how the market works and knew how to accumulate step by step.
The truth is, you can start with just 100,000 VND — or even less. Bitcoin is divided into 100 million small units called satoshi, so you don't need to buy a whole Bitcoin. Think of Bitcoin like gold — the price of 1 kg of gold is very high, but you can still buy a small piece of gold. Similarly, you can own 0.00000001 BTC. Most exchanges require a minimum of about 5 USD (equivalent to 100,000 VND) per transaction.
There is an important difference that many people do not understand clearly: what is Bitcoin mining? It is the process where computers solve complex problems to verify transactions and create new Bitcoin. But you don't have to mine — buying Bitcoin directly from an exchange is much simpler for beginners.
The real key is strategy. I don’t just buy Bitcoin — I accumulate little by little, buy low and sell high, and invest in other promising coins. For example, in 2019, I used 0.1 Bitcoin to buy BNB. By 2021, BNB’s price increased 100 times while Bitcoin increased 5 times. As a result, my 0.1 BTC became 2 BTC. From there, I continued to use that Bitcoin to invest in other coins.
Let’s take a simple example: if you invest 1,000 USD to buy 0.1 Bitcoin when the price is 10,000 USD, and then sell when the price rises to 30,000 USD, you will have 3,000 USD. When the price drops back to 15,000 USD, you use the 3,000 USD to buy again, and now you will have 0.2 Bitcoin. By continuously buying low and selling high, your Bitcoin holdings will gradually increase.
But be careful — high profits always come with high risks. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile. Some coins can increase hundreds or thousands of times, but they can also lose all their value. The important thing is to have a clear plan, do thorough research yourself, and never invest based on someone else’s advice.
The core is patience, resilience, and sharpness. Treat this as a real business, not a gamble. Start small, learn, accumulate step by step, and you will see the difference. Wishing you success!
