May 14, 2026, a day of widespread decline!
May 14, 2026, Thursday.
Last night, the U.S. stock market continued with its momentum, and over on the A-share market, the bidding session saw a high open. Huaguang Huaneng opened slightly in the red. After the opening, it surged up and struggled for a few attempts before I chose to fully clear out.
The better performers during the bidding were chips and photovoltaics. Since the U.S. market rose well last night, expectations were still quite high today. I picked Lingyi Zhizao, Shiyun Circuit, Tuori New Energy, Hongbai New Materials, and GCL System Integration. Among them, I mainly favored GCL System Integration—because it has both chips and photovoltaics. The first board order volume wasn’t enough, and then it broke the limit. After a rebound and a return to the limit, I went in directly.
I originally thought that there wouldn’t be much of a problem for A-shares today, but right at the open the situation changed abruptly—gapping up and then falling back. Throughout the day, volume expanded, but it turned into a volume-driven selloff. In the afternoon, some funds tried to bottom fish and pushed through a round of a small rebound. However, after the rebound, the market pulled back again into the close. More than 4,000 stocks declined, and the number of stocks hitting the limit down increased—signs of a retreat are becoming apparent. At present, the main thing to watch is whether the 5-day line of the ChiNext and STAR Market indices can hold; it serves as a reference for sentiment in this phase.
Let’s see tomorrow!
