I've noticed that lately, discussions about price manipulations in the crypto market are becoming more frequent. The topic of crypto pump schemes is especially relevant — this classic scheme continues to cause losses for beginners.

The fact is, scammers operate according to a proven scenario. First, they quietly buy large volumes of some obscure coin at low prices. Then they start creating noise on social media, Telegram channels, forums — spreading positive rumors and hype around the potential of this asset. A crowd of investors, driven by emotions, begins to buy, and the price soars. And then, when the peak is reached, the pump scheme organizers start dumping their positions en masse at inflated prices. The price crashes, and ordinary investors are left with losses.

How to recognize such manipulation? The first sign is a sharp price jump without any real news or technical updates. If a coin suddenly rises 50-100% in a day or two without obvious reasons, it’s very suspicious. The second indicator is abnormal trading volume growth. When volume sharply increases along with the price, it often indicates a crypto pump is happening.

I think it’s important to pay attention to sources of information. If unknown accounts on social media aggressively promote a token and create a sense of urgency — like, now or never — that’s a clear red flag. Legitimate projects don’t need such pressure. They have strong fundamentals: a transparent team, a clear roadmap, real use cases, and community support.

What should you do to protect your investments? First, always conduct your own research before investing money. Study the team, technology, and ecosystem of the project. Second, diversify your portfolio. Don’t put all your funds into one cryptocurrency, especially one that looks suspicious. Third, trade on reputable exchanges that have systems to detect fraudulent activity. Such platforms provide a safer environment for trading.

I also think it’s important to constantly follow news in the crypto space and stay informed about regulatory changes. Governments are increasingly taking measures against market manipulation in cryptocurrencies. Being informed helps make more well-founded decisions.

Overall, pump and dump schemes remain one of the main threats to inexperienced investors. But if you stay vigilant, analyze carefully, and choose reliable trading platforms, you can significantly reduce the risk of falling for scammers’ tricks. Personally, I prefer to trade on trusted exchanges that have good security mechanisms.
