I just looked back at the history of this PEPE frog, and actually it has more interesting things than you think. It’s not just a sad face in a drawing.

The story begins in 2005, when Matt Furie - an American artist - drew Pepe the frog in the comic Boy's Club. At that time, it was just an ordinary character, but then there was a scene where it pulled down its pants and said "Feels good, man" - and that became its first meme.

By 2008, this image spread to 4chan, and the community there started playing with it. They changed expressions, added or removed details, creating Sad Pepe, Smug Pepe, Feels Bad Man... From then on, Pepe the frog became a symbol for all emotions - sad, lonely, angry, happy, whatever you want it to express.

But then in 2015-2016, this meme was exploited by some right-wing political groups in the US, including in campaigns supporting Trump. This caused a lot of controversy, even anti-discrimination organizations listed it as a hate symbol. However, Matt Furie - the creator of Pepe the frog - publicly opposed this misuse.

What’s interesting is that on 4chan, "Rare Pepe" appeared - unique versions, even sold as collectible art pieces. And when it entered the crypto world, Pepe the frog became an inspiration for NFTs and tokens, with some projects built on the Counterparty platform.

Honestly, I think the crypto community really loves playing with meme culture. What do you think about creating your own version of Pepe the frog? Maybe "Pepe Blockchain" or something like that - a rare Pepe for your community, for example. It seems like that’s how this meme continues to stay alive in this crypto generation.
