I have always been fascinated by how Elon Musk influences the cryptocurrency markets. This guy is practically synonymous with market shifts – one tweet and the entire sector trembles. But what does he actually own? I delved into it, and it’s worth knowing which specific assets are in his portfolio.
Let's start with Bitcoin, the king of all cryptocurrencies. Musk first publicly accepted BTC in 2021 when Tesla announced an investment worth 79.37k dollars. Tesla later sold most of its holdings, but Musk confirmed that he still personally owns it. I understand why – Bitcoin is like digital gold to him, a store of value for the long term. The current price is around $79.37k, and in the last 24 hours, it has dropped by 2.08 percent.
The second asset is Ethereum. Musk revealed that he owns ETH during his speech at a conference in 2021. Here, the logic is different – it’s not just the value but also the potential. Smart contracts, DeFi, NFTs – Ethereum is the foundation of this entire ecosystem. ETH now costs about $2.25k, with a 1.85 percent decrease over the day.
But when it comes to his favorite, it’s undoubtedly Dogecoin. Musk has never hidden that he likes DOGE. He calls it a cryptocurrency for ordinary people, promotes its use in Tesla and SpaceX. He appreciates its humorous origin and meme history, but also believes in its practical application – low fees, an active community. DOGE is currently up by 2.15 percent and costs $0.11.
Interestingly, there are rumors about other coins in his wallet. Musk denies owning Shiba Inu, but his tweets about dog memes always cause market movements. This shows how much influence Elon Musk’s cryptocurrency has on the entire sector. Floki Inu, named after his dog, also attracts attention, though without confirmation that it’s his asset.
Overall, Elon Musk’s cryptocurrency portfolio is a mix of the old (Bitcoin as a store of value), the new (Ethereum as technology), and the fun (Dogecoin as a social movement). It shows that even a billionaire views crypto not only through speculation but also through technological and social potential. It’s worth watching how his attitude towards these assets evolves.
