I just checked the data on the blockchain and Vitalik Buterin's history is truly fascinating, especially when you see how his wealth has grown with Ethereum.

First, what catches the eye: his current wallet is around $1.03 billion. Most of it is in ETH, of course – he has about 240,042 tokens worth approximately $1.01 billion. He also has smaller positions in AETHWETH, WHITE, MOODENG, and KNC, but that's practically noise compared to his main holdings.

What’s interesting is that Vitalik Buterin’s wealth isn’t just numbers on a screen. The guy was born in Russia in 1994, moved to Canada as a child, and in 2011 discovered Bitcoin through his father. Two years later, at age 19, he proposed the idea of Ethereum. He dropped out of the University of Waterloo in 2014 and officially launched the network on July 30, 2015, after raising $18 million in the ICO.

Think about that: if you had bought ETH in 2014 at $0.31, today you’d be seeing absolutely wild returns. Ethereum became the second-largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin, and revolutionized everything – DeFi, NFTs, decentralized applications. Buterin received the Thiel Fellowship in 2014 and appeared on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

What surprises me most is that with all that wealth, the guy remains humble. He dresses simply, focuses more on the technical impact than showing off money. He donated a billion dollars in Shiba Inu to a fund against coronavirus in India, supports refugees, medical research. He’s not the typical crypto billionaire.

He is currently leading Ethereum 2.0, working on improving speed, security, and reducing energy consumption. In today’s market, ETH is at $2.25K with a -1.89% change in 24 hours. Vitalik Buterin’s story and how he built his fortune is a reminder that in crypto, long-term technical vision can change everything.
