Anthropic allows third-party agents to reconnect to the Claude subscription version, but with additional independent quota restrictions.
Odaily Planet Daily News: Anthropic announced that starting June 15, 2026, a new Agent SDK billing policy will be implemented. According to the new rules, third-party agent tools such as OpenClaw will be re-allowed to access the Claude subscription version, but must use a separate “dedicated monthly quota” that is no longer shared with regular chat quotas.
Previously, in April of this year, Anthropic limited third-party tool calls to the Claude subscription quota to prevent abuse. This adjustment is seen as the final solution to the related controversy, meaning third-party access will be reopened, but agent calls will be completely isolated from regular chat quotas.
Specifically, Pro version users will receive a dedicated $20 monthly quota; Max 5x and advanced Team versions will have $100; Max 20x and advanced Enterprise versions can get up to $200 in quota. These quotas can only be used for third-party applications, self-built agent projects, and Claude-p backend command calls. The quotas refresh monthly, and any excess must be paid at the standard API rate.
