Last night, I was spinning old vinyl when, as usual, I checked the group chat—and they were arguing again about whether the funding rate is so extreme it’s about to reverse, or whether it’ll just keep inflating the bubble… Honestly, seeing this kind of commotion makes it easier for me to stay calm. The market feels like a spinning wheel—going round and round—while emotions are what first get tense, like a needle getting pulled tight.
For LST and this whole re-pledging setup, to put it plainly, most of the returns don’t just come out of nowhere: either they come from the base yield of staking itself, or from “someone is willing to pay a premium for safety/points/liquidity,” and some of it is even subsidized. The risks are equally straightforward: the more leverage you stack, the more on-chain runs, contract liquidations, and protocol problems all start to connect like a needle hopping into place—one after another, all at once. I personally treat it as seasoning: keep your position small, choose something transparent, and keep some cash on hand—just don’t get carried away.
