just realized how many people don't actually know what 1k means when they see it online lol. like everyone throws around these numbers on crypto twitter but not everyone gets the scale. so 1k is literally just 1,000 - kilo means thousand. then you've got 1 million (1,000,000) and 1 billion (1,000,000,000). sounds simple but when you're looking at market caps or follower counts, it matters. especially in crypto where you see prices move from 1k to 100k real quick and people panic sell thinking it's way more than it actually is. if you're trading or just scrolling through youtube stats, understanding these abbreviations saves you from looking stupid in comments lol. 1k gains might sound huge but it's just a thousand. anyway thought i'd share this since i see so many confused posts about it
