The Cost of War Reaches $29 Billion, Trump Urges Iran to Halt Nuclear Development
Donald Trump reaffirmed his demand that Iran immediately cease all uranium enrichment activities 100% and ensure that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons. In an interview on the radio show "Sid & Friends" (77 WABC) on Tuesday (5/12), Trump stated that a series of economic pressures and blockade measures taken by the United States have successfully compelled Iran to come to the negotiation table. However, he emphasized that the U.S. will not rush into any agreement to ensure the best possible outcome.
Amid these diplomatic efforts, the Pentagon announced that the total cost of military operations against Iran has so far reached $29 billion. The high expenditure has begun to raise concerns among the American public about additional fiscal pressure on the United States and ongoing instability in the global energy market, as evidenced by the high volatility in international oil prices.
Although the war costs have increased, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that they have prepared additional military escalation plans if necessary. Hegseth emphasized that combat readiness will continue to be enhanced to respond to any uncertainties during the negotiation process. This underscores the United States' firm stance of maintaining military options amid stalled diplomatic efforts. #GateSquareMayTradingShare #AprilCPIComesInHotterAt3.8% #IsraelStrikesIranBTCPlunges #WalshConfirmedAsFedChair
