After updating to version 1.7196 of Claude Desktop, the Gateway mode connection to third-party models completely fails. The only current solution is to switch back to Local Proxy mode.
Core steps:
1⃣ Run npm start on the terminal to start the proxy.
2⃣ Set the Model ID to the official format (e.g., claude-sonnet-4.6).
3⃣ Ensure that the local port (8787) is open.
