Wu Shuo learned that in the United States, the core Producer Price Index (core PPI, excluding food and energy) for April 2026 increased by 1% month-on-month, the largest increase since March 2022, surpassing market expectations of 0.3%; the March increase was revised up to 0.2%. On an annualized basis, the U.S. core PPI for April rose by 5.2%, higher than March's 4% and also above market expectations of 4.3%.
