Just been diving into UK Prime Ministers' net worth data and the wealth trajectories are absolutely wild. Some of these numbers show just how differently their fortunes moved before and after holding office.

The most striking pattern? Some leaders barely changed their wealth at all. Rishi Sunak basically stayed in the $900M+ range throughout, which honestly puts things in perspective. Then you've got Keir Starmer holding steady around $8M+ as well.

But then there are the dramatic climbers. Tony Blair went from $1M to $70M after his tenure—that's a 70x multiplier. David Cameron similarly jumped from $50M to $70M, and Margaret Thatcher saw her wealth grow from $10M to $60M. Even John Major went from $1M to $6M, which is still a significant jump.

What's interesting about someone like Gordon Brown is his net worth trajectory stayed relatively modest compared to peers—going from $2M to $5M. Meanwhile, others like Harold Macmillan and Winston Churchill showed more measured growth, moving from $15M to $20M and $10M to $15M respectively.

The outliers are fascinating too. Liz Truss barely moved the needle at $10M to $12M despite her high profile, while Theresa May went from $3M to $7M. Boris Johnson's climb from $2M to $6M happened fairly quickly given his media prominence.

There's definitely a narrative here about how political power translates to financial outcomes—some accumulate wealth through office, others were already wealthy before entering politics. The variance is huge depending on career path after leaving Number 10.
