Before each time you prepare to open a position, stop and ask yourself: What is the expected profit for this trade, and must I exit without hesitation?

Never brainwash yourself with the illusion that "the market can still go higher," because in a highly volatile market, the floating profits on your account are always just virtual numbers. Only the profits that are truly realized through closing the position and cashing out into your pocket count as real gains. Many people clearly have small profits but, due to greed and unwillingness to take profits in time, stubbornly hold on, resulting in a likely empty-handed outcome in the end, unable to even preserve their initial modest gains.

Small profits gradually give way to losses, returning to break-even, and then holding on through the break-even point can lead directly to being trapped. Once losses occur, some still cling to hope, stubbornly refusing to cut losses, waiting for the market to rebound or reverse. This trading mentality of only chasing gains, not knowing when to take profits, and unwilling to cut losses, will inevitably lead to large losses over the long term in the crypto space, resulting in a fall that cannot be recovered from.

The trend in the cryptocurrency market has always been unpredictable and changes faster than anyone expects. Even if your market analysis is highly accurate and your logical deduction of the trend is rigorous, once the trend turns downward, there will be no warning in advance. One moment you’re happy about floating profits rising, and the next moment, your account starts to turn from profit to loss. By the time you realize you want to cut losses and exit, you often miss the best opportunity, leaving no room for recovery.

When I first entered the market, I also suffered significant losses from stubbornly holding positions. Clearly, I had secured stable profits, but due to greed and reluctance to exit, I watched my gains gradually evaporate, missing the best profit-taking point perfectly. After experiencing countless pitfalls and losses, I finally understood: trading in the crypto space is never about how high your floating profit can go on a single trade, but about how much you can ultimately secure and lock in as profit.

So until now, every time I open a position, I set clear take-profit points and stop-loss lines in advance. When the expected profit is reached, I exit decisively; if the price falls below the stop-loss level, I immediately cut losses and exit. I never greedily hold on, nor do I harbor any unrealistic fantasies about market reversals.

In fact, the most deadly risk in the crypto space is never the capital loss on a single trade, but the greed-driven mentality that causes you to give back all the hard-earned profits to the market.

Always remember this simplest trading rule: when profits reach your target, cash out immediately; when losses exceed your limit, cut losses and exit promptly. Only by learning to control speculative desires, manage greed, and avoid opening positions recklessly can you maintain a steady mindset and protect your gains in the highly unpredictable crypto market, ensuring long-term stability.
