I have long been interested in how people in Ukraine pay with cryptocurrency in everyday life. It turns out that it has become much easier thanks to crypto cards. At first glance, they look like regular bank cards, but the difference is that a regular card is linked to one fiat currency, while a crypto card allows you to use digital assets right here and now. How does this actually work? It's simple: when you pay, your crypto asset is instantly converted into fiat, and you receive your goods. Sounds like magic, but it's reality.
Recently, I gathered information about the most convenient crypto cards for Ukrainians and want to share my findings. I'll start with Trustee Plus, which is rightfully considered one of the most popular virtual cards in Ukraine. It was developed by Ukrainian programmers, and you can feel that.
What I like about Trustee Plus: virtual card, so no need to carry plastic, just your phone. You can top up to 15,000 euros per day, and transactions in euros are fee-free. Supports USDT, BTC, and ETH, which are instantly exchanged for euros at the time of payment. Crypto wallet top-up is completely free. Card maintenance costs nothing. The daily payment limit is 5,000 euros, and cash withdrawals can be up to 2,000 euros per day. They plan to release a plastic version as well.
But there are also downsides: registration costs 10 euros, a 0.5% fee applies for crypto-to-euro conversion during transactions. Cash withdrawals at ATMs cost 1 euro plus 1%. Some American services do not accept this card due to billing address requirements. Sometimes ATMs refuse because the card is virtual.
People who use Trustee Plus especially praise its convenience while traveling across Europe. Instant payments for delivery and shopping are so convenient that many forget about their regular cards.
The second option I studied is CardB Card, a virtual crypto card from a fintech startup. It is available in Ukraine and has interesting features. The card currency is USD and KZT, and you can issue up to five cards per account. Supports Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. They plan to launch a credit crypto card and a plastic debit version.
It has its own features: the card is valid for 3 years, monthly maintenance can cost up to $0.99 depending on the tariff. Top-up costs $0.99 plus 1% of the amount. At the maximum tariff, the top-up limit is $5,000 per card and $15,000 per account per month.
This is a fairly promising project worth monitoring and testing.
Overall, crypto cards in Ukraine are no longer rare, and demand for such solutions is growing. People receive income in cryptocurrency and can now spend it conveniently without wasting time on withdrawals and exchanges. Crypto cards offer limits on operations that are much higher than those in Ukrainian banks. This is a real breakthrough for those living in the crypto ecosystem.
Which crypto card in Ukraine do you like more? Write in the comments, like if the article was helpful, or subscribe — I’ll know that the story was not in vain.
