I have been researching how to mine cryptocurrencies with a cellphone, and honestly, there are more options than I thought. It’s not that I’m going to get rich quickly, but it’s worth knowing what’s out there.

Basically, there are two ways: direct mining on the phone (which consumes battery and is slow) or cloud mining (renting computing power). To mine cryptocurrencies directly with a cellphone, people use apps like CryptoTab. You install it, activate mining, and that’s it, it starts working. Some say you can invite friends and earn more, but I don’t know how true that is.

For cloud mining, there are several platforms. StormGain is popular because it has a user-friendly interface, although it needs to be restarted every 4 hours, which is inconvenient if you want it to run continuously. NiceHash is another option used by both beginners and more experienced users, mainly because it has an integrated profitability calculator and decent security.

Bitdeer is more for miners who already know what they’re doing. It offers access to professional facilities and different plans depending on how much you want to invest.

Now, is it really worth mining cryptocurrencies with a cellphone? It depends. Some people say no, because the competition is fierce, you need to have the phone on at least 8 hours a day, and there are many scam risks. But others think it’s an accessible way to start, especially if you believe technology will improve.

If you want to try it on Android, the process is simple: choose an app, install it, create an account, configure the mining pool, link your wallet to receive rewards, and hit play. On iPhone, it’s more complicated due to Apple restrictions, so basically you have to go for the cloud mining option.

According to user comments, the easiest cryptocurrencies to mine on a phone are Monero (XMR), Dogecoin (DOGE), Vertcoin (VTC), and Ravencoin (RVN). But before jumping in, check the electricity cost in your area and the current price of the coin.

One important thing: mining a full 1 Bitcoin on a smartphone would take forever (we’re talking years), so if you’re after pure Bitcoin, it’s probably not the way. But if it’s more out of curiosity or to have something generating passive income, go ahead.

The most important thing is not to rush and to do thorough research before getting started. Each app has its terms of use and can change at any time, so stay alert for updates.
