Techub News reports that, according to Bitcoinist, the U.S. Department of Justice has filed charges against three men from Tennessee, accusing them of carrying out violent robberies in multiple locations in California between November and December 2024, threatening victims to obtain their cryptocurrency seed phrases, and stealing at least $6.5 million. Prosecutors state that the gang disguised themselves as delivery personnel to enter victims' homes, using violence and threats to force victims to hand over their cryptocurrency wallet seed phrases. The three individuals were arrested last December and face multiple charges including conspiracy to commit robbery and kidnapping. It is reported that such physical attacks targeting cryptocurrency holders have been on the rise recently.
