Metaplanet Releases Q1 Financial Report: Revenue Up 251% Year-over-Year, Holds 40,177 Bitcoins

BlockBeats News, May 13 — Japan’s Bitcoin Treasury Company Metaplanet announced its Q1 FY2026 results: revenue of 3.08 billion yen, up 251.1% year-over-year; operating profit of 2.27B yen, up 282.5% year-over-year; recurring losses of 114.93B yen, mainly due to accounting impairments caused by the decline in Bitcoin prices.

As of March 31, 2026, Metaplanet held 40,177 BTC, with fully diluted BTC holdings per share increasing by 2.8% compared to the end of 2025. The company stated that as of May 12, 2026, its BTC holdings market value was approximately 514 billion yen, accounting for about 87% of the total BTC holdings of listed Japanese companies.

In addition, Metaplanet maintained its FY2026 full-year guidance, expecting annual revenue of 16 billion yen, up 79.7%; full-year operating profit of 11.4 billion yen, up 81.3%.
