Golden Finance reports that on May 13, according to the Chinese Embassy in the United States, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng emphasized that China advocates for the inclusive and benevolent development of artificial intelligence and opposes AI becoming a game for a few countries or a small wealthy elite. Xie Feng pointed out that as a leading global AI power, competition between China and the U.S. in artificial intelligence is natural, but it should be healthy competition, balancing development and safety, installing brakes before accelerating, and demonstrating great power responsibility through cooperation. The world does not want to see an “AI iron curtain” or the land grabbing of AI, and strongly opposes a “Star Wars” style AI arms race. Coordination between China and the U.S. on AI concerns the future of both countries and the destiny of humanity. We look forward to the U.S. working with China, strengthening dialogue, managing competition, and engaging in cooperation, so that AI becomes a new frontier for China-U.S. collaboration and a new step for human progress.
