These days, I’ve been a bit itchy again, seeing the market move and wanting to add to my position, but I’ll first pause and ask myself: what new information have I really gained, or am I just being led by those green and red bars? Honestly, many times it’s emotions driving the trades, not cognition upgrading.
The macro side is also quite lively, with expectations of interest rate cuts, the dollar index, and risk assets sometimes rising and falling together. All of these can be explained, but it also makes it easier to get confused… I try not to rely too much on a single indicator, preferring to be a bit slower, at least not to fill my positions at the most excited moment.
Anyway, my current approach is: when I want to chase, I first close the order interface for two minutes, think clearly about “why now,” and if the answer is very vague, then… you know what to do.
