A mysterious person claiming to have come from 2058 is making waves in the crypto market. Her name is Rei Kokubun, and online she’s called “Japan’s strongest future person.” She apparently predicted the number of gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, the crash of the Nikkei average, and the timing of former Prime Minister Abe’s resignation, which has gained her quite a few followers.
What’s interesting is her crypto investment strategy. In December 2019, she reportedly bought about 1,400 Ethereum in bulk, stored it in a hardware wallet, and buried it in her parents’ yard. The reason she chose Ethereum over Bitcoin is because of its ecosystem scalability and high growth potential. Currently, Ethereum is at $2.29K, but her investment judgment is quite intriguing.
However, she has made some pretty wild predictions about Bitcoin. She says that by 2058, Bitcoin will reach 2.29k yen (about $4.94 million), but at that point, “you’ll only be able to sell, and won’t be able to buy.” Since Bitcoin’s current price is $81.09K, she’s assuming a significant increase. Supporters who hear this seem to think it’s worth buying now.
But some researchers question whether her past predictions have truly been “divinely accurate.” Economic downturns and political changes can be guessed based on current information. She also mentions earthquakes, infectious diseases, and crypto trends, so it might just be a matter of probability that she hits at least one of these.
Most media and scientific circles are skeptical of time travel itself, and there are critiques that Rei Kokubun’s statements are often vague. Some believe she’s using ambiguous hints to attract user interest.
From an investment perspective, it’s clear her words influence market sentiment. Long-term potential for Bitcoin and Ethereum is once again being highlighted. However, experts warn that even when considering “future value” predictions, it’s essential to accurately assess your own risk tolerance first.
Her statement that “Bitcoin is only something to sell” has also been pointed out as potentially encouraging excessive speculation and market panic. Since 2024, Bitcoin and Ethereum have experienced major fluctuations due to U.S. elections and ETF launches, so staying calm is crucial.
Ultimately, whether Rei Kokubun is truly a time traveler or just a clever media strategist remains a mystery. It’s an interesting topic for the crypto market, but investment decisions should always prioritize personal responsibility and risk management. Whether or not to believe in future information is a different matter—careful, step-by-step judgment is key.
