I just saw many people asking what BTC dominance is, so I want to share a bit of knowledge about this indicator.

BTC.D or Bitcoin Dominance is a way to measure Bitcoin's dominance in the entire crypto market. Basically, it is calculated by dividing Bitcoin's market capitalization by the total market capitalization of all other cryptocurrencies, resulting in a percentage.

Why is it important? When this indicator is high, it shows that Bitcoin is dominating the market, and investors are focusing their capital on BTC. Conversely, when BTC dominance decreases, it signals that altcoins are starting to rise, and capital is flowing into other coins.

I often use BTC.D to gauge market sentiment. If dominance increases, it may mean that funds are moving out of altcoins and back into Bitcoin. If it decreases, an altseason could be approaching. That’s why many traders monitor this indicator to adjust their asset allocation strategies between Bitcoin and other coins.

However, remember that BTC dominance is just one of many market indicators. It should not be relied upon alone to make decisions. It needs to be combined with other factors and thorough analysis to make sound investment choices.
