I noticed an interesting trend at the beginning of the year – the record wealth of the world's richest people has reached a completely new level. Tech entrepreneurs simply dominate, and this is no coincidence. Artificial intelligence, space, semiconductors – these are what are currently driving the world.
Elon Musk holds the top spot with a colossal lead. His wealth is estimated at around $726 billion – this is just a record in modern history. SpaceX has skyrocketed in valuation, Starlink is expanding, Tesla continues to grow, plus his influence in AI and neurotechnology. Such a level of personal wealth has never been achieved before.
Following him are other tech giants. Larry Page, with his Google, holds about $270 billion – Alphabet dominates in AI. Jeff Bezos is in third place with $255 billion, AWS and Amazon logistics are running like clockwork. Next are Sergey Brin ($251 billion), Larry Ellison ($248 billion), Mark Zuckerberg ($233 billion).
The top is continued by Bernard Arnault with $205 billion, Steve Ballmer ($170 billion), Jensen Huang ($156 billion), and Warren Buffett ($151 billion). Interestingly, the richest person in the world now exists in a completely different league compared to previous decades.
What is happening? First, an explosion in AI and cloud computing. Second, rising valuations in space and semiconductors. Third, American tech companies are simply dominating globally. And finally, founders who held their shares for many years are now seeing their bets pay off multiple times. This is a completely different scale of capital concentration than we have seen before.
