Google or SpaceX in talks to launch in-orbit data centers

An insider revealed that Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., is in talks with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to launch the search giant’s in-orbit data center test product. Google stated in a blog post last November that it is exploring collaborations with other launch service providers, including Planet, for a project called “Project Suncatcher.” The company plans to launch prototype satellites to test the performance of machine learning in space.
