Techub News reports that, according to CryptoBriefing, the UK government has announced sanctions against 12 individuals and entities linked to Iran, accusing them of laundering billions of dollars through shadow banking and being involved in assassination plots in the UK. The sanctions target the Zindashti criminal organization and two exchange platforms, Berelian Exchange and GCM Exchange. The United States has synchronized sanctions, focusing on networks assisting Iran in selling oil to China. The UK government states that this network uses front companies to transfer funds and bypass traditional banking compliance regulations. Cryptocurrency exchange compliance teams need to include the above entities in their screening lists to prevent the risk of sanctions evasion through digital assets.
