Recently, I needed to register on some overseas websites, and I found that virtual number verification is really a convenient method.
I’ve encountered many pitfalls before—some platforms don’t receive messages, others have long delays—and only later did I find a few decent SMS verification platforms to share with everyone for reference.
In fact, verification platforms are just rental services for virtual phone numbers to receive verification codes, avoiding the risk of exposing your real number.
I’ve used SMS-Activate and 5SIM; these two offer the best overall experience, with verification codes arriving within about 10 seconds, and they cover many countries.
Super Cloud SMS supports US and Chinese number segments well, with fast speeds during the day, though sometimes slow during peak hours.
Xiaoniao Verification specializes in domestic app testing, usually receiving codes in 5 to 15 seconds, and offers good cost performance.
Getsmscode is cheap and suitable for light use.
When using SMS verification, be aware of a few pitfalls: shared numbers are often used by previous users, and sometimes target websites will directly flag virtual numbers as risky.
My experience is to prepare several backup numbers; if one becomes invalid, you can switch immediately.
Some platforms even support one-click number switching, which is very convenient.
If you’re just testing an interface, choosing any platform that supports API is enough;
but if you want stable registration on a specific overseas site, it’s best to top up with multiple numbers.
Another detail: don’t use virtual numbers as your long-term primary number, as privacy and security are not guaranteed.
If you don’t receive messages, try switching to a number from another country or refresh; sometimes it’s really a platform issue.
Overall, choosing a reputable, active verification platform is more reliable—don’t just go for the cheapest option, or you’ll regret it later.
